Welcome to the View Ridge Water Polo team. Water polo is kind of like soccer but played in the water. Plus, you get to use your hands! It’s fun, good exercise, turns you into an amazing aquatic athlete and it is a great team experience. Football, basketball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, wrestling and swimming skills all transfer very well to this high action sport. Even if you’re not the best swimmer (or simply don’t love swimming back and forth!) come and give it a try.
One of the cool things about our water polo team is that it is open to both members and non-members. So invite and bring along friends! All boys and girls ages 7-18 are welcome, no experience needed as long as you can swim 25 yards and tread water for a couple minutes. We are especially trying to build our girls and 12 & under programs so invite your friends!
We’re looking forward to another fun season! We’d love to have you join us for some fun in the sun!

This is a preliminary schedule. The below times might change a bit. Full details to come. And, remember, if you can’t start right away it is no problem. Join us anytime.
Pre-Season Practices:
Regular Season – Wednesday, August 5 – Friday, August 28
Practices (Monday – Thursday) 12 & Under – 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. 13 & Over – 9 a.m. – 10:55 a.m.
Practices Fridays Only 13 & Over – 10am – 12 noon (all others will be playing matches at this time)
Games:
The times given are windows for games and are very conservative. Chances are good that the time we actually compete will be considerably shorter as we have multiple teams and multiple age groups at the same pools. Also, some of the Tuesday/Thursday nights will be byes. About half the games will be at View Ridge, with the other half at pools in north Seattle and Shoreline.
Eligibility:
If you are not a View Ridge member, you may play with us IF we are one of the two closest summer league pools to your residence. Why? There have been repeated instances of groups of high school and/or club players moving en masse to a pool so they could all play together. This will hopefully deter that. What does this mean for you? If you are new to the club, then you need to look at your distance to us versus the distance to other pools around. For most that likely means comparing distance to Sand Point and Wedgwood. If you have been playing with us and do not meet this criterion, feel free to reach out to me so we can see if you can be grandfathered in. This rule is brand new so the league is still figuring out some of the details.
Coed teams:
For many, many years, questions have been raised about why many of the coed teams are all boys! Good question and the answers are tortured and dull. So, the league decided that at least one girl must play during coed games. This has never been an issue for us as we have not had the numbers to keep anyone out of the water!
